As we’ve mentioned this week, October is Pastor and Staff Appreciation month and we want to take the time throughout the rest of the month to highlight our amazing staff at Wooster Nazarene.
Without further ado…
A frequenter of Hallmark movies, Pastor Nathan Ward is the fearless leader who guides and shepherds our church congregation, our staff and our church board day in and day out. Arriving Mother’s Day of 1995, he and his wife Dixie, along with their three children (all of whom attend with their families today) began their journey as Senior Pastor of Wooster Nazarene.
Although journalism, law enforcement, teaching history and coaching basketball were all on his career radar, he ultimately answered the call to full-time pastoral ministry after having grown up in a ministry and Christ-centered household.
Anyone who has encountered Pastor Nathan knows that he is passionate about two things, God and people. He loves to see people experience God and say “Yes to Jesus”, and regardless if you’ve been attending WN for 30 years or it’s your first Sunday, you just can’t escape those hugs, because when the rubber meets the road – it’s all about connection.
He and Dixie’s home have seen thousands of people through it’s doors over the past 26+ years as they are all about relationships and getting connected with everyone. When he’s not ministering to others, you can find him in a different kind of ministry, being a dad and a grandpa to those 3 kids, their spouses, and 10 very energetic and amazing “grands”.
